SOS Kinderdorf International has villages and community projects all over the world and is helping some of the world's most vulnerable children. It is the world's largest orphan charity caring for over 200,000 children. The successful SOS Children's Villages of Pakistan, a private social welfare organization, is a affiliate of this major global establishment dedicated to providing homes for orphans and abandoned children. The special feature of SOS Children's Villages is that they are not traditional orphanages: they provide children with the security of family and the comfort of a new home environment. Children are given a mother, brothers and sisters, a home and a community in which they grow. They can stay in the village until they are old enough to lead their own independent lives. Every effort is made to enrich children with strong moral values, sound education and valuable skills that will enable them to become productive and dependable citizens, capable of easily integrating into society.
